Bourne Fields Case Study

RCM supplied its A1 Supertech Weatherboard in an Ebony stain finish to enhance the
exterior appearance of these new-build exclusive homes at Bourne Fields, Aldridge.

Bourne Fields is the name of Cameron Homes’ flagship development of 14 exclusive five-bedroom luxury homes completed in August 2017. Located near Aldridge these homes command a price tag of up to £1,350,000 and are designed and finished to a very high specification.

RCM were appointed by GAP Ltd to supply their Supertech Weatherboard in an Ebony stain finish to enhance the exterior appearance of these new-build exclusive homes.

The Bourne Fields development comprises of five collections of houses (the Haybarn, the Farmhouse, the Mill, the Forge and the Grange), all of which have been built to a premium specification throughout. The semi-rural area surrounding Bourne Fields has all the benefits of living in the countryside in addition to offering easy access to the Birmingham commuter belt.

These houses, at the top end of the market, offer the buyer luxuries such as underfloor heating on the ground floor, wood-burning stoves, and fully fitted alarms. All these amenities are included as standard. Displaying a timeless elegance with a contemporary edge, the interior design is of a very high quality. The kitchens, for example, are fitted out with high-tech appliances, such as quartz worktops, Quooker instant hot water taps, among other modern furnishings. The size of the plots, together with the pricing structure all confirm a very luxurious offering.

The exterior of the homes has been designed to reflect their farmland setting and naturally a quality finish was required to give the homes a high-spec and appealing exterior look befitting of the interior finish.

RCM was commissioned by GAP Ltd to supply their Supertech Weatherboard planks, which were delivered in the Ebony stained finish. The 775 planks were fixed into place with screws and colour-matched trims, which RCM also provided. The size of each plank was 3660mm x 230mm and these were cut to size at site. One of the great advantage of using Supertech is that it can be used in the same way as timber using standard woodworking tools. By choosing our 230mm over the 190mm standard plank less weatherboard is required to cover the same area – reducing cost, install time and can even reduce wastage depending on building size.

Supertech Weatherboard is also resistant to rot, fungus and insect attacks. It has a high level of weather resistance and is low in maintenance with a long performance life. These properties make Supertech ideal for the use on exterior walls. RCM offer Supertech planks in a wide range of colour finishes with colour-matched aluminium trims also available.

“RCM are delighted to have played a role in such a prestigious development. Supertech Weatherboard is always a popular choice. We are able to compliment any delivery with screws and colour matched aluminium trims or bespoke trims made from weatherboard. Our team are only too happy to help, just give us a ring!”
