Mainly required with traditional thick coat render systems surface mounted expansion beads are used to protect the render from cracking due to thermal or structural movement in the substrate. Made from powder coated Galvanised Steel or Stainless Steel, in a choice of mesh or perforated wing, with optional PVC nosing which will provide additional protection against abrasion and corrosion.
Expansion beads must be specified where there is a structural movement joint under the render and also where there is a change to the background substrate.
