Benx Ltd Receives Award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS)

Benx Ltd, awarded a silver award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) in July 2021, was recently invited by Major General John Crackett, WM RFCA Chairman and Colonel Richard Maybery WM RFCA Chief Executive, to the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Awards Presentation lunch.

Held at the iconic National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas on the 3rd of November 2021, HR Director Dr Kevin Ruane and HR Manager Justyna Bailey attended the prestigious awards ceremony where they enjoyed an afternoon of music from the Band of the Prince of Wales and were presented with the silver ERS award by Brigadier Regional Commander Jock Fraser from the Royal Marines.

Following the award presentation, a memorial service was held at the arboretum.

The National Memorial Arboretum is a UK registered charity which exists to ensure that the unique contribution of those who have served and sacrificed is never forgotten, that the baton of Remembrance is passed on through the generations and that their 150-acre visitor site is open all year round to celebrate lives lived and commemorate lives lost.

This Ministry of Defence award recognises companies for their support to the Armed Forces community, including Reservists, veterans, spouses, Cadet Forces Adult Volunteers, and cadets. Silver award holders must demonstrate several positive measures and policies in their organisations, which actively support members of the Armed Forces community.

Certificate holders pledge to support the armed forces, be open to employing reservists and veterans – and uphold the values of the Armed Forces Covenant.

Here are some of the ways Benx Ltd is delivering on its promise.

Benx Ltd will ensure:

  • That members of the forces community are not disadvantaged in their recruitment and selection process
  • That all positive policies relating to defence personnel are internally publicised
  • That they employ at least one individual from the armed forces category that their nomination emphasises
  • If required, that they have demonstrated support to Reservist mobilisations
  • That they align their values with their Armed Forces Covenant

41 organisations in their region are confirmed as Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award winners for 2021 and a further nine employers have had their ERS Silver Awards from 2016 revalidated for their continued commitment.
