SPSenvirowall’s Wall System 1 was specified for the 95,000 square foot grade A landmark headquarter office building, Aurora in Finzels Reach, Bristol.
Designed to BREEAM Outstanding and LEED Gold Standard at the time of development, Aurora was a new benchmark for sustainable development and is one of the most environmentally friendly buildings outside London.
The seven storey £250 million mixed-use development was designed to provide a 37% reduction of carbon emissions.
To achieve this, SPSenvirowall’s expertise for energy efficiency and its Wall System 1 was specified with grey extruded polystyrene insulation (GEPS) ranging between 160mm and 290mm was designed for the 8,800m2 building.
Aurora’s striking façade was achieved with the application of SPSenvirowall’s white 1.5mm EnviroSil silicone render, a pre-mixed, highly water repellent silicone based through colour textured finish.
EnviroSil allows façades to maintain its cleanliness vie the natural cleaning process which occurs during rainfall. Through its self-cleaning properties, EnviroSil is UV stable and is also a high permeable product making it an ideal finish for use with all types of insulation.
Aurora is now a landmark headquarter office building within walking distance of Temple Meads station and Cabot Circus.
