A major development has seen the creation of some 300 contemporary new homes in the heart of a country park in Kent. The Conningbrook Lakes scheme was built by the Chartway group, a leading Kentbased developer, with GDM Architects responsible for the main design.
RCM were asked to supply their Supertech Weatherboard for the exterior of the different types of houses, ensuring an individual finish for the different house types. The Conningbrook Lakes development lies within Conningbrook Country Park, a popular 34 hectares nature reserve on the outskirts of Ashford, Kent. An idyllic location featuring lakes, ponds, woodland and grassland.
The development of the new homes is a joint venture by Latimer and Clarion Housing Group. A leading Kent-based developer, the Chartway Group was chosen to design and build the houses on Conningbrook Lake. In turn, Premier Building Products were engaged to supply quality building materials to the construction and as experts in providing specialist cladding solutions, RCM were asked to supply their Supertech Weatherboard to the project.
This highly evolved construction partnership resulted in 300 private houses, offering 2,3,4 and 5 bedrooms being constructed within this beautiful and tranquil surrounding. Despite the development being set within landscaped grounds in a rural setting, surprisingly good connections with Ashford town centre are just moments away offering access to a high-speed rail link offering direct services to London St Pancras in as little as 38 minutes
Every home at Conningbrook Lakes has been built to a high specification and rigorous standards. Quality materials were an essential component in the construction process and as a reliable supplier of high-quality materials, RCM were asked to supply their Supertech Weatherboard. This was then applied to the exterior of individual houses to denote their different designs. The planks were fixed both horizontally and vertically to vary the decorative effect. Jet black and white were the colours chosen in order to achieve a timeless elegance and for an additional seamless finish, colour matched trims were also supplied. RCM ensured plenty of touch up paint was available, just in case of any mishaps during installation.
The construction project was on a very large scale and brought with it its own challenges. One such example was the storage of the Supertech on site, which was supplied in huge quantities. Luckily, RCM’s expert technical team were at hand to visit the site and advise the best way to store the planks. All building work has now been completed and the proud house owners have moved in.
This project highlighted the accomplishment of professional services and products for future generations to come.
