Howard Gardens, student accommodation in Cardiff is set to be available ahead of the 2020/21 academic year. The £20 million development from RGB Group offers a 390-bed student accommodation close to the city centre with excellent transport links to Cardiff University, University of Wales and Cardiff Metropolitan University.
Occupying half of the square in Howard Gardens, the former bowling green and club pavilion is now home to a series of four and five storey accommodation blocks with a focal point of an eleven-storey block surrounding a courtyard and exhibiting an authentic looking brick façade suited to the local environment.
SPSenvirowall was appointed to provide a suitable external wall system for the project which resulted in the expert instalment by Build-Therm Services Ltd of our Wall System 1 solution. A thickness of 150mm mineral wool insulation was used across 3000m2 of the project and completed with SPSenvirowall SpeedySlip flexible bricks creating a superior finish and perfect consistency throughout.
Reaching the highest standard of fire safety for the external cladding, SPSenvirowall’s flexible brick slips are lightweight and boasts an A2-s1, d0 fire-rated classification in accordance with BS EN13501-1, making them suitable for use on high rise buildings, including refurbishment projects.
The attractive building’s façade showcases the Red Bradgate Claret and Staffordshire Blue brick slip colours, expertly matched by our specialists. By making use of multiple brick colours from our extensive brick slip range, the new building suits the aesthetics of the surrounding area.
As a Benx Group company, and key cladding supplier, our complete range of products and support service offers a palette of cladding products, providing a single-source for the life of the building and reducing your risk of choosing and designing a façade for your project.
